The white bead line is what lets coloured stones work on a black ground: pink, green and blue read, but a stone in the same family as the cloth disappears, so the letter is drawn in beads first and filled inside that line. The beads are also the register, so every stone lands within a letter already marked. At the pockets, the stud tape does a second job, weighting the welt so it stays shut.

Mustard is the hard colour: daylight turns it warm, shop light flattens it to ochre, so the white bead outline keeps the lettering apart from the cloth in either. The crop ends at the waist over a rib band; the sleeve clears a watch, and the fleece holds its shape without standing off the body.
